Up for bid is a wonderful Victorian trade card for Congress Shoes. Shown is a colorful lithographic illustration of 3 adorable children resting on a stone wall. When you supersize image 1 you will see the artist's attention to detail. Notice that one of the little girls is holding a doll. The artistry is just great and the colors are still vivid after all of these years. When you supersize image 2 you will see that the back of the card has a printed Insurance Certificate from the Bridgeport Elastic Web Co. that insures the shoes for 1 1/2 years. These companies were in business at the end of the 19th century. Measuring 4 1/4" X 3" in size, this colorful card was among a large collection of Victorian trade cards. Victorian trade cards like this one are getting harder and harder to find--don't let it get away!
